Party Wall Surveyors

The Party Wall etc Act 1996 defines the rights of owners when building work is undertaken to a party wall, party fence wall or when construction work is within 3m (and sometimes between 3-6m) of a property and the foundations are below that of an adjoining property. The Act has a procedure to deal with matters and assists in the avoidance of disputes (after the event).

We have 3 Surveyors who can act on behalf of either:

a) the “Building Owner” (ie the owner who wishes to carry out work covered by the Act), or

b) the “Adjoining Owner” (ie the owner who may be affected by works proposed by his/her neighbour under the Act). Alternatively, we can Act on behalf of both Building Owner and Adjoining Owner as “Agreed Surveyor”. It is our philosophy to keep Party Wall matters as simple as possible and to prevent unnecessary disputes between neighbouring owners.
